Fuse (Overstrike) Character Assets 2011-2012

Hello from Tokyo! I wanted to share some character art I worked on during my last couple of years at Insomniac Games. One of the last games I worked on was a title called Fuse which was originally announced as Overstrike. I'll share a few assets I worked on that I have with me here Japan, will try to update more when I get back home. Concept art for these were done by the great Carlo Arellano and Darren Quach. Just google them.

Looks like I can't upload any high res images here. It keeps getting res-ed down.
For higher res images you have to go to my CGHub images, click on an image and click download.
Example: http://cghub.com/images/view/540743/ click download under images.

This is Dalton the main hero character in the game. This is a later iteration of the character. These screenshots are from early 2012.

This is the ZBrush sculpt of Dalton's snow jacket. I only worked on the high res sculpt.
This is Naya, the main female hero, this was back in 2011.

The Fuse female spacesuit in Zbrush.
The Low Res Female Spacesuit.
This is the Zbrush High res of the Fuse male spacesuit. Not much time was given for this since I would re-use a few pieces I already made from the female version.
This is my take on Izzy's head sculpt during Overstrike production. The eyelids are lowered for rigging purposes.
This is an early take on Izzy during Fuse production. This is not the final version of the head that made it into the game.
This was the Net Drone that was cut from the game.
Here is a Maya Viewport screenshot of the Net Drone that was cut from the game.
This is the Mag Shield, Dalton's main gadget that he carries in the game during Overstrike production back in 2011. This actually made it into the final game. This asset was made in 1-2 days for the cg trailer.
This was Izzy's main gadget the Glue gun or Spider during Overstrike production back in 2011. This was eventually cut from the game when the design changed. This asset was made in 1-2 days for the cg trailer.
This was Naya's main gadget the Cloaker during Overstrike production back in 2011. This was eventually cut from the game when the design changed. This asset was made in 1-2 days for the cg trailer.
This is the Tesla Bow, Jacob's main gadget that he carries in the game during Overstrike production back in 2011. This actually made it into the final game. This asset was made in 1-2 days for the cg trailer.
This is a Maya Viewport sceenshot of the Attack Drone (later renamed to something else). I only worked on the high res.
A Zbrush Screenshot of an early version of Izzy for Fuse.
A Zbrush Screenshot of an early version of Izzy for Fuse.
An Early prototype of Izzy for Fuse.
This is another prototype of Izzy during Fuse production. Mainly updated face and hair from the previous version. This version was cut from the final game.
Another take on Izzy, this time with blonde hair. This version was cut from the final game.

That's it for now. I will try to update more when I get back to LA.

Metal Gear Rising LA Launch Party

Here are some photos from metal gear launch party Monday night at the Hard Rock in universal city. Stole some better photos from my co-workers. Event was held 2/18. First 150 fans that got their game signed by Metal Gear Rising producers Yuji Korekado and Atsushi Inaba at Gamestop actually got into the private after party right next door consisting mostly of Konami Digital Entertainment, members of the press, a few people form Kojima Productions both Japan and LA studios as well as Platinum Games and of course the fans that were waiting in line for a long time. It was fun, open bar, great food (sliders and quesadillas just to name a few), and a live metal band. It was great seeing the fans reactions to the premiere of a new Rising trailer edited by Kojima-san himself.

This is only of many launch parties worldwide I believe. Kojima-san and Shinkawa-san were touring in Europe so they were not present. The Platinum producers are touring North and South america. Los Angeles is just one of their many stops.

Hard Rock Universal City

Fans waiting in line.

Female Raiden (inside joke MGS fans always complained that raiden is too feminine)

Inside the Hard Rock

Few members of the Kojima LA team.

Press playing the game.

Best looking Raiden Cosplay ever!

I actually thought he was staff but apparently he was a fan trying to get in.

Is Raiden a dude or a chick?

Both Raidens together.

The live band.

Here is the trailer premiered that night edited by Kojima-san.
